archaic versus classical my head is filled with words such as archaic, classical, lekythos, kore, kouros, Eros, Aphrodite, gods, goddesses, yadi yadi yada. ancient greek and roman sculptures float in mind's eye. right up my alley.spent a good hour studying two pre-1500s pieces of art. so intent was i, i almost jumped out of my skin when the security guard approached me. my initial thought was "err. is there a time limit as to how long i can stare at one piece of work?" "excuse me." he says. "perhaps you should go to the information counter and ask them for a chair so you may sit down?" awww. how nice of him. NGV are a devious bunch, placing their store conveniently before the exit. suckers like me head towards the exit only to be distracted by the wonderful display of art books and cards. "oooooooh! a quick browse never hurts" i think to myself. quick browse equates to half an hour of ooh-ing and ahh-ing and in the process, picking up several art books, an art magazine, lip gloss (??!!) and a booklet on the grotesque exhibition. with the willpower of wrought iron, i managed to put back the art books. the rest - on credit please. i have insufficient funds in my bank account. nothing new there. off to the library i go. more research on ancient greece and such. two and a half hours later, and it's dark. "WOW. i've never spent so much time in the uni library before." i proceed to walk out. jet looks at me and points in the other direction. "we go out THAT way." "ah. hehehe. you can tell i never come to the library." a productive day and i'm terribly satisfied. Alysia S. procrastinated again @ 11:46 pm
